I grew up surrounded by factories, then moved to a city of seven million people where finding a parking spot was harder than finding a mushroom. Then I moved to Alaska and accidentally became obsessed with wild berries, herbs, and mushrooms. It turns out the world's best grocery store has no walls, no cashiers, and occasionally a moose in the parking lot.

My husband is a dyed-in-the-wool naturalist, and together we've built a lifestyle around harvesting what the land provides. We forage berries, mushrooms, herbs, and wild foods whenever we can. People call it "free food," but after three hours of hiking, battling mosquitos, and bending over for every blueberry, you'll realize Alaska definitely sends an invoice.

I'm not a botanist or a scientist—just a woman with a strong instinct to gather, preserve, and care for her family. Finding berries, mushrooms, and herbs brings me more excitement than it probably should.
But the harvest is only part of it. I love being in nature because it's healing, recharging, and asks nothing from you in return. No subscriptions, no notifications—just fresh air, quiet trails, and the simple joy of discovering what's growing around you.
